My hair is a mess. I’m in the back with a brush, trying to untangle it, when Layern comes in and watches me from behind.

“We can’t do that again. You are not allowed behind the counter, ever.” I smile.

“Really? Why? You had fun, right?” He raises a brow at me.

“It’s not happening again, and I look a mess now.”

“You look perfect, and I love that red hair, Seda.”

I bite the inside of my cheek, my lips are too sore and I need something to bite. As I’m fixing my dress, ensuring I look appropriate for work, he smoothes out the back of my dress, making sure he lingers over my butt. We smile at each other in the mirror, and it feels so good to have him around, and not just because the sex is awesome.

The rest of the day is normal. Layern stays off to the side watching me, and is always on his feet when a man comes into the store. I think he’s jealous. I smile, and reality hits me. I may want to pursue more with Layern, but Queen Nala will never allow it. I’ll just have fun with Layern for now. He’s so honest and would never hurt me. I can see that now.
